This image of a larger than life frog has gone insanely viral. The massive amphibian was caught and reported at a South Texas Ranch.

They later commented,
“Wanted to share a monster bullfrog we got yesterday afternoon at one of our fishing ponds in South Texas ranch located in Batesville tx 13lb [5.8 kilograms] monster frog!!!” Since it was uploaded last Thursday, it’s been shared over 250,000 times and thousands of comments, most of which say something like “holy sh*t!”

This image is legit, but it is the result of what’s known as a forced perspective. An advantageous angling of objects in orientation to the camera that make them appear larger than they actually are.

It was explained by Wildlife researcher David Steen
