It has been over 30 years since the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Now, the tech giant has revealed details for the SNES Classic, a follow-up to the the Nintendo classic edition which was released last year. The mini console is set to be released on September 29 for $80. It will feature 21 games including Super Mario World, Earthbound, Super Mario Kart, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Moreover, the console will include Star Fox 2, a sequel that was canceled 20 years ago. What’s interesting is the fact that in order to unlock Star Fox 2 people are required to beat the first level of Star Fox. This will certainly bring nostalgia to fans of the discontinued sequel.
Gamers will be allowed to play the retro games on high-definition televisions thanks to the HDMI cable that is included. That’s a feature that was also available with its predecessor the NES Classic. A charging cable, and two SNES controllers are included as well. Here’s the full list of the games:
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- Final Fantasy III
- Kirby Super Star
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Mega Man X
