Telltale’s Batman episodic game was just launched at the start of this week and its launch was less than smooth for the PC version; luckily, the developer has quickly dealt with the issues and has just released a patch and a statement.
Crashes and performance issues plagued the game from the moment it was launched on PC and the Steam discussion board was filled with players sharing their work-arounds which allowed them to play the game.
On the official website, the developer acknowledged the performance issues seen at launch and commented that the issues seemed to be caused by running the games on integrated graphics cards or were due to out of date drivers.
The company recommends that players look at updating their drivers before running the game ; this patch should fix all performance issues seen such as resolution problems, crashes and the low frame rate issues.
These are the patch notes for the recent update:
• Automatically defaults the game to run on dedicated graphics card
• Adds graphics settings to enable selection of Higher Performance Textures or Higher Quality Textures (please select Higher Performance if performance is an issue)
While most of these issues have been dealt with, Telltale Games have confirmed that they are still looking into the issues and will continue to address any performance issues as they appear. The developer will also update their official statement with news if and when this occurs.
