Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is without doubt one of the most famous people on the planet. From his flop gimmick as Rocky Maivia in WWE to becoming the Hollywood’s highest paid actor, the A-lister has seen it all.

The tattoo of the Brahma Bull on his massive right bicep is iconic and has been a signature ink of the former WWE superstar from his early days in the pro-wrestling business. The tattoo is synonymous with The Rock’s stature. But now he has decided to evolve it with time.

In an Instagram post earlier this week, The Rock shared a video where he was sitting in a chair with the famous tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado. In the video, The Rock says “This is officially the evolution of the bull, something that’s very meaningful to me.

It’s become iconic. I’ve been very grateful over the years what it’s meant to me and certainly what it’s meant to people around the world.”

The video was captioned “Evolution of the bull begins w/ @nikkohurtado. I’ve engrained this bull in my DNA for two decades. My core. Humbly, it’s also become a symbol of strength, resilience, heart, power and defiance to so many people around the world.

I got this tattoo when I was just a kid. Now I need it to reflect me as a man. All my ink is a rite of passage and spiritual and the MANA (power and spirit) has to be right before we begin. Mana is strong with world renowned Nikko. We talked for hours about the man I am today, compared to who I once was. And who I’ll always be. We all desire to grow and evolve. The mana is right.. let the blood and pain begin.”

After a long 22hour session with the tattoo artist, Dwayne Johnson showed off his new tattoo, a massive realistic looking bull with cracks in it.

In a second Instagram post where he showed off his new ink, The Rock explained the meaning of the tattoo.
