The SAS has come up with a new tactic which could help to a great extent while countering terrorists.
They will issue exploding bullets to their troops which will help in taking down the opponents.
Currently the new weapons are being tested and tried by the US special forces and they are expected to be issued in the upcoming weeks.
Rapidly Invasive Projectile (RIP) is one of the bullets which is being designed to cause a huge internal damage.
G2 Research, a US company is in charge of making the most lethal bullet ever.
Their website states:
It is capable of going through barriers such as sheet rock, plywood, sheet metal or glass and still performs its original intent. The bullet shreds through solid objects and, only then, expands its energy.
On the other hand one well sourced intelligence report added:
The 5.56mm round issued to the Army will pass straight through a body but won’t necessarily drop a target. There were cases in Afghanistan where soldiers had to shoot the Taliban two or three times before they went down.
A lot of damage can be done in those few seconds. Expanding bullets are very unpleasant – they produce a massive hole – will stop a target in its tracks.
The testing of the bullets has successfully been done by G2 research in several automatic and semiautomatic weapons.
The British forces are expected to be issued “hollow point” rounds which will work exactly like RIP in the upcoming days.
